Combat Guide

Combat is server-authoritative and continues as an activity while you are away, up to your offline-progress cap. Check the target panel before committing supplies: enemy style, weakness, accuracy, expected damage, and win chance all matter.

Styles and loadouts

  • Melee uses Attack for accuracy and Strength for damage.
  • Ranged uses the Ranged skill and normally consumes compatible ammunition.
  • Magic uses the Magic skill, a selected combat spell, and its required runes.

The combat triangle gives style advantages, while elemental weaknesses can further reward the correct spell. Equipment contributes accuracy, power, defence, health, speed, and special bonuses; compare the full item card rather than only its level.

Staying alive

Auto-eat consumes eligible food once health falls below the selected threshold:

ModeThreshold
Safe65%
Normal45%
Risky25%

Auto-eat only helps when suitable food is available and the encounter permits another food use. Safe is a sensible first attempt; lower thresholds preserve food but increase defeat risk. A Hardcore Ironman becomes a regular Ironman on the first combat death.

Prayers spend prayer points for protection or offensive support. Potions provide defined effects and may be configured for automatic use. Magic consumes runes, and Ranged can stop when ammunition runs out. Always stock the complete loadout.

XP and progression

Combat outcomes award XP to the style or focus being trained. Hitpoints XP is also awarded through those outcomes; taking damage by itself is not the training method. Stronger enemies are not automatically efficient if misses, supply use, or deaths outweigh their rewards.

Before a difficult fight

  1. Match your style or element to the target.
  2. Inspect equipment and repair supply gaps.
  3. Bring food, ammunition or runes, and any intended potion.
  4. Restore prayer points and select prayers.
  5. Use Safe auto-eat for the first clear and adjust only after observing the result.
  6. For group content, confirm the mode-specific rules in Dungeons, Guilds, or Lemcrab.
